My Take on this article about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Top Music blogs
I was getting ready to sit down and check out who I think was missing from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when I came across this article.  This guy said all I wanted to say!  I won't try to say it again, but hope you will read the article because it's an interesting one talking about how this man in charge of the inductions seems to be acting on a personal whim and his own musical taste.  Also stated in the article is how there wasn't much issue with who was nominated. I still contend that Kiss is a band I can't believe has been passed over this long.  A band that has marketed themselves so well and one that really did something different to get their music out there.  Yes it was very gimmicky, but at the time of their popularity, how many bands were walking around in makeup and creating different personas of themselves? Isn't that influential in the music of rock?  Another oversight is the band Rush.  They were creating this progressive sound that wasn't like Boston, Styx, Yes, and those bands.  They had some own personality with their music, and they all could play the heck out of their instruments.  The Monkees were mentioned in this article as well, but can we honestly say they should be in the Hall of Fame??  I mean they played a band on tv, and granted they did play out live, but in the grand scheme, I am perfectly fine with them being left out.  Sorry Monkees.  Now I could do some more extensive research on bands missing, but I'll let all of this digest, and possibly write up my Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Snubs.  I've even wanted to go further and talk about who should be dismissed.  Make it a Hall of Dismissals because there are bands who have no reason to be in there!  Things to look for in the near future!
