With April down to the end, I wanted to take a look at the world of music for the month. If you're a member of the Foo Fighters, it was an awesome month. New cd out, new documentary out, garage tour, and just a lot of rocking. Record Store Day happened this month, and sales of vinyl went up thanks to that. Descendents will be playing at Riot Fest, and they did some touring now. LCD Soundsystem played their final show. Alkaline Trio finished up recording the new old songs re-imagined. Matt Skiba recorded another solo album. Lawrence Arms might finally release their dvd from 2 years ago. Rise Against covered Face to Face and Face to Face covered Rise Against. Just a few of the highlights from the past month. It was a good month to be a music fan as releases came out from Foo Fighters, TV on the Radio, Dave Matthews Band, Paul Simon, Thursday, John Oates, Meat Puppets, Gorillaz, Wayne Brady, Brandi Carlilie, Bowling for Soup, Silverstein, and others. Music Releases for April 2011 is where you can check check out all the rest. Lots of things happening in April, and let's see what the month of May will bring us.
Stephen's Music of the Week: A full set from the band, Bayside. I just can't get enough of this band. They play with a great punk rock style that includes a face melting guitar solo from time to time. If you like songs about relationships and life, check this band out.
