one Night standssssss

I've always enjoyed the song "Paradise by the dashboard light" so I thought why can't I make a song about the sweet art of making love. Here's my attempt at it. It's just an ode to the art, and of course includes the famous line from the first batman movie "do you wanna dance with the devil in the pale moon light" I thought that would be a great innuendo for love making. Hope you enjoy it. I would love to add a full band sound to it, and see what it could be all fleshed out.

Wanted to publish this video of mine. I tried to upload it, but it never did finish, so here's the link to it. Just open up a new tab for it, and you can listen and view it, while reading this. Sorry I couldn't make it easier.

It's just a rough draft of a song I've been working on. I am hoping to add more to it, but I think it's great to show a song in the baby stages, and then you can hear the finished product hopefully soon when I'm playing with a band again. I've toyed with the idea of just playing out and about on my own with just a guitar, but I love the whole band vibe so much more. It's a lot to put yourself out there just yourself. It really shows the talent you have. I like to think I have some talent when it comes to songwriting, but it's easier to show off when you have other guys playing along. They can add some bass line or drum beat to really up the music. As far as this song, it's pretty simple. I always try to write what is on my mind. You can take that for what it is. I wrote this because more and more I'm thinking I'll be alone and might not find "the one" and I'm becoming ok with that.

I think I'm out there trying to really make something out of my life beyond a typical job or life. I want something more, and just wish I could get going in that right direction. I need to open up that one door, and step through, and I know then that life will be fine. I'll be the person I want to be. Just need that situation and believe me it's not the lack of not trying. I want to put myself out there, and make something happen. That's why I'm so passionate about playing in a band. I don't think it's ever too late to become a band and do something with it. It doesn't have to just be a hobby. You could play out in places beyond your home town. You can record stuff, and sell it on the net. You can give it away on the net. As long as the music is getting out there, and people are digging it...that's doing something with it. This song may not sound like much, but that's what I'm trying to say with it. If I don't have someone along for the ride, who cares? Am I enjoying the ride, then great. That's all you can really count on in the end anyways.

Wow I've been gone too long.

I've decided to get back to the blogging, not that I did it too consistently, so maybe I'm going to give it a better go now. What has been in the world of Stephen and his music? Well things have happened. Decided to move on from the world of Okay Death Ray. I enjoyed making the music, but wasn't enjoying it as much as I had. Needed a bit of a new direction, and some new faces. So I'm out there looking for new musicians, which is harder than you think. It might as well be asking for a date from a girl you really like. It's just as hit or miss. It's like I've said before, why start the interest, and then flake out? But oh well, I'm sure I'll find the right guys, and I can make the music I want to make.

So what am I doing musically then? Very good question. I'm still writing stuff here and there. I'm thinking about just trying to record myself. I've also looked into some other ways to make music, and I've even thought of a different avenue to present music. Kids Picture Books!!

What a picture book and music? Why yes that is what I am saying. I got the inspiration while sitting in a class and hearing a read aloud. It hit me, why couldn't I do that? I took a class on children's literature, and I've done so many read alouds that I have a good idea on what I would want in a book, so the wheels started turning. And I got to thinking what about a guitarist who wants to prove he's the best guitarist, hence Ricky the Rocker started coming together.

What is Ricky the Rocker about??? Well he goes to Guitar Land for this rocking show to prove his rocking skill. And there are some other musicians there that will get their own book as well. And he's in the contest, but.....you'll just have to read it to find out. There are the wheels in motion to get it illustrated, and to get it printed up. Not sure what may happen after that, but getting it published would be the ideal goal. heck just having one copy would be a goal for me to have. I can say hey I made a kids picture book. So be on the lookout for that. be on the lookout for more music by me. Just be on the lookout for me.
