I've decided to get back to the blogging, not that I did it too consistently, so maybe I'm going to give it a better go now. What has been in the world of Stephen and his music? Well things have happened. Decided to move on from the world of Okay Death Ray. I enjoyed making the music, but wasn't enjoying it as much as I had. Needed a bit of a new direction, and some new faces. So I'm out there looking for new musicians, which is harder than you think. It might as well be asking for a date from a girl you really like. It's just as hit or miss. It's like I've said before, why start the interest, and then flake out? But oh well, I'm sure I'll find the right guys, and I can make the music I want to make.
So what am I doing musically then? Very good question. I'm still writing stuff here and there. I'm thinking about just trying to record myself. I've also looked into some other ways to make music, and I've even thought of a different avenue to present music. Kids Picture Books!!
What a picture book and music? Why yes that is what I am saying. I got the inspiration while sitting in a class and hearing a read aloud. It hit me, why couldn't I do that? I took a class on children's literature, and I've done so many read alouds that I have a good idea on what I would want in a book, so the wheels started turning. And I got to thinking what about a guitarist who wants to prove he's the best guitarist, hence Ricky the Rocker started coming together.
What is Ricky the Rocker about??? Well he goes to Guitar Land for this rocking show to prove his rocking skill. And there are some other musicians there that will get their own book as well. And he's in the contest, but.....you'll just have to read it to find out. There are the wheels in motion to get it illustrated, and to get it printed up. Not sure what may happen after that, but getting it published would be the ideal goal. heck just having one copy would be a goal for me to have. I can say hey I made a kids picture book. So be on the lookout for that. be on the lookout for more music by me. Just be on the lookout for me.
melt your face later,
Stephen
