So I've been bouncing this idea in my head because I really want to get out and start playing with more musicians, and creating something different. I love working with my band, don't get my wrong, but why not work outside the box as well. I always am noodling on my guitar, and I think man it would be awesome to have someone come in and just lay another guitar part on top of this. I know I could sit all day, and write a song by myself, but I know music is meant to be shared and the best part of music is presenting an idea to someone, and letting them add their own personal touch to it. I want to come up with a simple song at first that I can layer another guitar, a bass, some drums, some percussion, some gang vocals, some strings, whatever else we can think of. I think it would be awesome to create a full album of roundabout songs with other people, and even get together to present it live somewhere. This is going to be my summer project, and one that I hope to fully achieve. If you're up to the challenge as well, get in touch with me. This won't work by myself, so I am putting it out there for other people to throw their musical touch to this. I think the overall concept would be songs involving the joys of why we listen to music, how we create music, and why we play music. It's a "concept" album in a way, and one that I look forward to getting started right away. Look for more details coming up, and get with me about how you can help this project in some way...artwork, photography work, musical work, lyrical work, whatever you can bring I will bring in.
